Homeless Dog Matchmaking
Canine Justice Network matches homeless dogs in shelters/rescues, to people that would otherwise buy dogs from pet stores/breeders. We help to locate specific breeds, sizes and temperaments. We offer recommendations if you are uncertain about what type/breed of dog would be right for you. We personalize our service to each individual.
Canine Justice Network informs the public of the many ways shelter & rescue dogs desperately need homes. We offer education about canine Euthanasia, Breed Specific Legislation, Overpopulation, (the urgency of spay/neuter) Puppy Mills and more.
We explain in a very up front way, why it is so vital to adopt a dog, rather than buy. Every year approximately 8-10 million animals enter shelters nationwide. Of those 5-9 million are euthanized. If you think this is done at a vet in a peaceful way, you are very sadly mistaken!
So don't breed or buy while homeless pets die!
Our Homeless Dog Matchmaking is a free service. We do a sk for donations to help us continue our efforts to save dogs lives, although this is not mandatory. Donations are graciously accepted and equally appreciated. All donations go straight to the dogs. We DO NOT profit whatsoever from this organization.
Easy steps to finding your dog
- To ensure the proper match of person to dog, dog to person, we require a *pre-adoption application. Once that is filled out and submitted we can begin your search.
- Once your application is processed, we will send you an email with some photos of dogs and brief info. We will send you as many matches as it takes to find you the dog you are looking for.
- Once your match has been found, we will help make you an appointment to meet the dog.
- We make it easy for you to contact us. Either by phone or email, if you have any questions on your matches, please let us know.
*note anyone wishing to be matched with a dog through our services is required to fill out an application. This does not exclude a separate application through which ever shelter/rescue we match you with. We will never give you dog matches from a breeder/pet store. We reserve the right to refuse or turn away potential adopters for any reason.
